Duncan M. James has been a resident of Mendocino County since 1967. Prior to entering private practice in 1979, Mr. James served as the District Attorney of Mendocino County from 1969 to 1979. During most of that period, his office also performed all of the functions of County Counsel. As the County Counsel, his office represented all of the county offices, all of the school districts and almost all of the special services districts. Since entering into private practice in 1979, the emphasis of Duncan's practice has been all forms of litigation, primarily in the fields relating to business, real estate, construction, personal injury, insurance bad faith, criminal law, probate and family law.
